  1. Soak the tamarind in hot water for 15 mins. Extract thick pulp. Discard the fiber. Set aside.
  2. Pressure cook the toordal with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp ghee and 3 cups of water for 3 to 4 whistles or till it becomes soft.
  3. Add the greens & 1 cup water and pressure cook for 1 whistle and set aside.
  4. Heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds. Add hing, curry leaves, fenugreek seeds, ginger and green chilli. Saute.
  5. Now add the finely chopped tomatoes, sambar powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, tamarind pulp and salt.
  6. Cook till the oil separates.
  7. Add this to the cooked dal & greens mixture and cook on low flame for 5 mins.
  8. Top with ghee.
  9. Offer Thottakoora Pappu along with Steamed Rice or Chappati to Lord Sri Krishna and honor Krishna Prasadam.
