Instructions to make Dobladas:
  1. Start by boiling water. Peel potatoes and peel off the skin of the carrots. Make sure the water is at least filled half way in a pot. Chop the potatoes and carrots into small bite size pieces. Place the carrots in first and then place the potatoes on top.
  2. Grab a pan. Chop one onion into small bite size pieces and place them in the pan. Add the beef. Do not add oil. Add seasoning, pepper and basil.
  3. Boil the potatoes and carrots until they are soft but not soggy. Then add them to the beef. Stir for a little and then set it off to the side.
  4. Grab another small pot and dice the other onion into small bite size pieces. Add them with oil into the pot and add 2 cans of hunts salsa. Add seasonings. I usually use black pepper or garlic salt.
  5. Put as much Masa as you want into a mixing bowl. Add cold water and mix using your hands. Adding Salt is an option.
  6. When the Masa is smooth, start making little circle tortillas out of them. Once you have one made put a little of the beef stuffing into the tortilla. You can also add cheese if you want to. American, Swiss, motzzerella etc. Then press the stuffing gently down into the tortilla and close the top. Like your folding a Taco or a piece of paper. It does take some practice.
  7. Grab another pan add oil to cover the surface only and start to place them in. They should look like a crisp brown color. Flip them and cook them thoroughly or they turn out soggy in the middle. Be careful they are easy to burn. Enjoy :)
