  1. Preheat an oven @180 degree,line,grease and dust a loaf tin with butter and flour.
  2. In a bowl shift together flour,baking powder,baking soda,rose powder,cardamom powder and salt. Keep aside.
  3. In another bowl on medium high speed beat together condensed milk,eggs,butter,vanilla extract and rose extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the shifted ingredients to the wet ingredients and gently fold through.
  5. Add a few drops of colour (if using) and mix well until all the ingredients are well combined.
  6. Pour the batter in the prepared tin and bake in the preheated oven for 40 - 45 minutes until done or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  7. Remove to a cooling rack.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes and gently remove the cake from tin.Continue cooling for a few minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside. Beat eggs and sugar together until creamy. For the rose, cardamom and pistachio baklava, make a syrup. Bring to the boil and simmer for about five minutes, or until the sugar is dissolved and a syrup has formed. Stir in the rose essence and leave to cool.
